"The home was very nice and had everything we needed. It was close to the beach and close to the shopping center that we could go in the golf cart to get things. It was so nice having a pool at the house to use. We had a great vacation with 3 little kids and it even had a high chair and baby gates! Plenty of room for 4 couples to stay and the room with the bunk beds worked great for the kids. Definitely would recommend. Only suggestion would be doing a better job sweeping as there was a lot of pet hair on the floor still, but we did use the vacuum the house had to sweep again."

"We had issues with refrigerator and pool heater. However, when we contacted maintenance the response time was quick. We received a refund for the days missed that the pool was not heated in a timely manner. The place was clean and prepared when we arrived. It was set up safely for children. We have 5 grandchildren and although it was cold they had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and enjoying the activity in the area. We loved seeing the wild horses! Anytime you spend time with family it is well worth it and priceless!"

"The house could use some improvements but we had a great week! Cons-The outdoor shower was FULL of sand and unusable, the deck had old nails sticking out so it was very unsafe for small children, the kitchen sink knob was broken and annoying to finagle, the house could have used a better cleaning before we arrived, and lastly it’s full of unnecessary curtains and old decorations which are annoying for a parent of small children. Pros- The air conditioner worked amazing, the pool company came to clean and service the pool, there is extra beach accessories, they allow dogs, close to the beach, kitchen was stocked with plates and anything you need to make a meal."

"The listing says that certain items are not included but a lovely welcome package in a reusable insulated grocery bag greeted us when we arrived. It included dish soap, a sponge, a roll of paper towels, toilet paper and tissues, a single use laundry detergent among other items. That was a pleasant surprise! The kitchen is incredibly well stocked will all kinds of dishes, utensils, pots, pans and serve ware. I was able to easily feed my family without needing to invest in a single kitchen item. In fact, there are 3 types of coffee makers! The only issue I had, which is unrelated to the property owner, was that the pool had not been cleaned and the bottom was covered in sand. I emailed the management company and within hours a couple came out and made the pool spotless. If you are looking for a well stocked home, convenient walk to the beach, quick bike ride or drive to the stores, mini golf and lighthouse I highly recommend this home!"

"This is the 3rd, maybe 4th, time I've rented this house in the last 10 years. It's a nice property in a great location near groceries and shopping, restaurants, etc. This year, to my disappointment (and easily blamed on pandemic/global supply chain issues), the pool pump had a leak causing the pool to lose a lot of water every day. I think the water level issue also prevented the pool cleaned prior/during my stay as it should have been. The hot tub was also inoperable (I was told it will be replaced). The dishwasher was broken and the repair part didn't arrive in time for our use. Other than these issues with items that are prone to have issues on occasion, the house is in good shape and the kitchen is well-equipped. It's a short walk (1.5 blocks) to the beach access and the beach there is lovely. I'll definitely rent this house again in the future."

"We enjoyed our stay at this property, good location to the beach. It was great that the property was dog friendly. We reported a couple things to maintenance once we arrived and they showed up literally within 10 minutes so that was awesome. The jets on the hot tub were out and not fixed during our stay so that was a bummer, but overall we had a great time and enjoyed the house! Plenty of room for our family and accommodating for babies as well. Can't wait to come back to the OBX!"

"I thought the house could have been in a little better condition. Had to place one service call for underwater pool light and spot lights overlooking pool. I also noticed a nail that was sticking halfway out on the front steps. The grass was extremely high when we checked in, but was cut a few days into our stay. Overall, we had a great time."

"We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, more space then we needed for only 5 people. The pool is somewhat small, but clean and a nice alternative to the beach. The kitchen is stocked very generously with everything you will need. It was nice to bring our dog to the house and the beach everyday! Very easy walk to the beach, even if you have small kids. Beautiful and safe neighborhood. Communication was great. We had a little trouble with the tv's not working the first night and they sent someone to fix them the next day. Overall, I would recommend this property and we would stay again!"

"Surf's Up is a wonderful spacious home with all of the right amenities for our family to get away for a week and enjoy the refreshing OBX beach atmosphere. While the weather didn't cooperate as much as we'd hoped, having such a nice bright place to call home for a week made up for it. Everything was healthy and refreshed for us when we arrived (essential during COVID-19) and the rental company was extremely helpful and responsive when we needed them. Just a short walk to the beach made the location ideal and the pictures of the kitchen doesn't do justice. It's much roomier and accommodating than we expected. We had great home cooked meals enjoyed around the large dining table or outside on the deck. The sunsets took our breath away and we really enjoyed the hot tub, especially on the chillier nights."

"Loved our stay at Surf's Up. Great customer service by the rental company. Very responsive. We looked for grill tools, unable to find and we brought new tools. I apologize as we found grill tools UNDER cookie sheets in bottom drawer of over. So sorry but never thought to look there. Also, I only commented about an umbrella for the outside table which appeared to be broken in one spot. Just wanted to mention it so we were not blamed. A new umbrella was delivered. There was also a counter stool chair with a loose seat. Forgot to mention it but saw screw on floor and left on counter top. 5 stars for your company's responsiveness and help. Suggestions for the house rental: Have a book or something just noting where things are like grill tools, how to work TV's, where extra pillows are, suggestions on food places (we are repeat visitors but good for new comers), and include a BATH MAT for bathrooms with showers/tubs. My 91 year old mom almost fell coming out of shower in top floor master bedroom. Floor was slippery when wet. I too thought we should have a bath mat or rug. But otherwise, GREAT house and again, Shoreline OBX was awesome!"

"This was a last minute vacation plan for the family. First one in 7 years. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The house was very well equipped with everything you could possible need. Very clean with more than enough room to accommodate all of us including our precious fur babies. The only complaint I would have is that the pool had a severe leak in it and had to be refilled constantly. However, when we called to report it, maintenance came out immediately and reassured us. I would absolutely recommend this property for a family vacation rental! We couldn't have asked for a better week!"

"House was great floor plan for our needs. Great for our pet too. House seemed well equipped with most needs. Loved that sheets and towels were wrapped-knew that they were freshly laundered. Ran the cleaner mid week and the canister had a lot of dog hair in the canister even in the rooms where our dog had not been-think that the cleaning after the previous tenants was not that thorough. Different parts of the house could have been cleaner but overall it was ok. CSA travel insurance seemed to be a joke as we thought we were going to have to cancel our week due to hurricane Florence. Seemed as thought we would have had to jump through hoops to get a refund for our week even when evacuation was proclaimed. We did loose a day of our stay because we were not allowed into the house until Sunday instead of Saturday due to the storm. Overall things were very good but on Friday before our vacation we thought we were going to loose the money for the whole week. Loved the hot tub. Would probably return to this house."
