El Matador Condominiums are located next to 17 miles of uninhabited beach. To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.

Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

"This was our second year of wintering at El Matador. The staff are very friendly and they go out of their way to help with any issues that might arise. The grounds are well maintained and the public areas are cleaned daily. Only reason I didn’t give excellent rating was our unit 335 really needs some new furniture. The couch and chairs are very worn out. The bed is not comfortable at all, no support. But the location of the unit is fantastic with great view of the Gulf and pool area. We plan on being back next winter!"

"We’ve been coming to El Mat for 30 years and for the most part stay in building 3. This is the first time staying in 335 but won’t be the last. Although the bedroom furniture was “vintage” the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has been updated and had plenty of dishes and glasses. I don’t cook too much while on vacation so the limited amount of pots and pans wasn’t a problem."

"Loved the condo and the view. The mattress was horrible as in i think the bed frame is broken. My husband woke up in the night and couldn’t see me, that’s how far I sank down, but I let the management know to notify the owner, so hopefully that will be replaced. The pool was too cool to swim in but the other pool was heated. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed our week."

"We enjoyed our stay in unit 335 at El Matador Condos. The unit was clean and stocked with supplies as promised. The queen bed and two pullout couches could very easily sleep 6 adults. The unit had a lovely view of the larger pool and the gulf could be seen and heard by simply stepping out onto the balcony. The building overall seemed very clean and secure, though the serviceable elevators are showing some wear. I think unit 335's couches, though, should be replaced with new. The couch cushions did not offer the sitting support we enjoy. Also, the mattress in the bedroom MUST be replaced. There are dents where bodies lay. We got backaches and my husband actually left the bed to sleep on the only slightly better couches. I also think for the money, there are a few simple supplies that ought to be provided. Two rolls of toilet paper is insufficient for a week's stay. Maybe provide one roll for every two days for two people. Also, consider providing one roll of paper towel, a small bottle of dishwashing liquid, and a box of tissue. Let people know what type of coffee pot is available. Travelers will appreciate knowing if they should bring filters or Kurig cups. These basic supplies are often offered in other rentable locations."

"This will be a detailed review. Before ever arriving I talked to 2 front desk rep quite often. They were SO SO NICE. We arrived after check in time 3-5. Before we arrived the front desk called and politely reminded us the passcode to the lock box and let us know our keys would be in the box. Which was so nice. Arrival and getting to our room was a breeze! Our room was VERY spacious and CLEAN! Plenty of space for everyone to move around. HUGE kitchen equipped with every item you need to cook. Very spacious balcony. The pool is excellent. We used the grill. I love the grass areas. Most places don’t have this. Lots of families playing catch in these areas. I loved the whole experience. A "

"The room was very nice with a great view overlooking the pool and the ocean. The only things that I would say can use some improving with would be, there is no ceiling fans so a nice stand up fan on the living room and bedroom would be nice. My family and I have a difficult time breathing at night without fans and especially with the Florida heat, it would have been nice, because the AC did not go lower than 68. And the Fridge never cooled off so it would not keep the food or drinks cold at all, but the freezer worked wonderfully. Besides those two things the trip and the room were amazing! I could not ask for a better view from the balcony!"

"El Matador is situated close to everything you need and Unit 335 provides easy access to beachfront. This unit has been updated and has great square footage for a 1 bedroom. It had everything to meet our needs for the week. Easy access to the coin laundry (next door literally). The queen mattress needs to be replaced as it felt worn out, an upgrade to a King with good support would be beneficial to future guests. However, we are still satisfied with this Unit. Thanks El Matador."

"We've rented this condo before and really do like it. The kitchen is updated and the bath has a stand up shower (no tub) which I like. However the mattress must be old as the complex! I actually went to Target and bought an inexpensive bed topper so I could sleep. But I'm not there to sleep, so I still like the condo. The kitchen is well stocked, and appliances are on the newer side. I will consider renting this again."

"Our first time in Florida was a great stay. This unit was nice and clean. If you plan on cooking they only had one very small frying pan, and there was 6 of us. Other than that the unit had everything we needed. The view was great, one morning we even saw dolphins swimming in the ocean. Nice view of the beach, there are palm trees blocking a bit of the view but it was still beautiful and I could see my hubby and kids in the pool as well. Location was nice and quiet, we did drive to miramar beach and found that beach area very congested with rows and rows of set up umbrellas. It was easy to get a nice place to sit on the beach here. We were not expecting the sea grass which was a bit disappointing and stinky. The locals say it usually doesn't stay as long and it was common in June but usually gone by July. We headed east to the public Henderson beach ($6 to park) where there was no sea grass and the water was crystal clear. We had paddle boards delivered to the beach which was so fun. Locals told us about many good restaurants like the "original crab shack" on the bay for great seafood or "Helen back" for some great pizza and a chance to feed the fish right off the dock where you sit. At night we went on the beach with flashlights and saw many crabs running around, kids loved it. Overall it was a great experience, would recommend this unit and location. Perfect for our family."

"My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the El Matador in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They had all the silverware, pots, pans, dishes, etc. that we needed for the entire week. The room we rented out, 335, was very spacious and super tidy when we arrived. The only thing I wish they would've provided us with were more trash bags for their trash cans, but we got them for $3 at the grocery store, so it wasn't a huge deal. Upgrades will probably be needed soon, as I saw a few cracks and worn out places throughout the unit, but for the price and the location, it was exceptionally wonderful! "Great area to spend winter months. El Matador has helpful staff and many relaxing features to be enjoyed by all guests. All areas and grounds are very well maintained. Beautiful views. Many fun activities planned with all invited to join in. If a problem occurs the staff quickly addresses the problem and handles it with professional manners. Guests do have to take care choosing condos over the internet as some photos and descriptions do not actually describe conditions of each condo accurately. Upkeep and updates of insides of each condo is by the private owners, so some maybe dated. Next year we will be returning for our fourth winter if that tells you something."
